16. ಕೇವಲ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಒಬ್ಬನು ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲವೆಂಬುದು ನಮಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿದೆ. ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಡುವುದರಿಂದಲೇ ಒಬ್ಬನು ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನೀತಿವಂತರಾಗಲು ನಾವು ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಇಟ್ಟೆವು. ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ, ನಾವು ನೀತಿವಂತರಾದದ್ದು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರಿಂದಲೇ ಹೊರತು ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದಲ್ಲ. ಇದು ಸತ್ಯ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುವುದರಿಂದ ಯಾರೂ ನೀತಿವಂತರಾಗಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ.
