15. ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸುವದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದಾಗಿ ಕಂಡರೆ ಈಹೊತ್ತು ನೀವು ಯಾರನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸುವಿರಿ? ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಗಳು ನದಿಯ ಆಚೆ ಸೇವಿ ಸಿದ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ನೀವು ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವ ಅಮೋರಿಯರ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನೋ? ನೀವು ಆರಿಸಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ; ಆದರೆ ನಾನೂ ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯವರೂ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನೇ ಸೇವಿಸುವೆವು ಅಂದನು.

15. “ನೀವು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡಲು ಇಷ್ಟಪಡದಿದ್ದರೆ ಯಾರ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದೀರಿ? ಈ ಹೊತ್ತೇ ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರು ಯೂಫ್ರೇಟೀಸ್ ನದಿಯ ಆಚೆ ಇದ್ದಾಗ ಪೂಜಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ದೇವರುಗಳ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡುವಿರೋ ಅಥವಾ ಈ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅಮೋರಿಯರ ದೇವತೆಗಳ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡುವಿರೋ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ನೀವು ಇಂದು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಬೇಕು. ಆಯ್ಕೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು. ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಮತ್ತು ನನ್ನ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನೇ ಸೇವಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ” ಅಂದನು.
