4. ಆಗ ಅವನು ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನಿಗೆ -- ನೀನು ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ರಾಮೋತಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಲು ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬರುತ್ತೀಯಾ ಅಂದನು. ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಾನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಜನರ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನನ್ನ ಜನರೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಕುದುರೆಗಳ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನನ್ನ ಕುದುರೆಗಳೂ ಇದ್ದೇವೆ ಅಂದನು.

4. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅಹಾಬನು ರಾಜನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನನ್ನು, “ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ರಾಮೋತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋರಾಟ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆಯಾ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು, “ಆಗಲಿ, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಜೊತೆ ಸೇರಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನನ್ನ ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ನನ್ನ ಕುದುರೆಗಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೈನ್ಯದ ಜೊತೆ ಸೇರಲು ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿವೆ.
