5. ಇದ ಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾವೀದನು--ನನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋ ನನು ಹುಡುಗನಾಗಿಯೂ ಮೃದುವಾದವನಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ; ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಬೇಕಾದ ಮನೆಯೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೀರ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯದ ಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಘನವಾಗಿರಬೇಕು; ನಾನು ಅದ ಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಈಗ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡುವೆನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನು ಸಾಯುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದನು.

5. ದಾವೀದನು, “ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಮಹಾದೊಡ್ಡ ಆಲಯವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಬೇಕು. ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಎಳೆಪ್ರಾಯದವನು; ಅವನು ಕಲಿಯ ಬೇಕಾದದ್ದು ಇನ್ನೂ ಬೇಕಾದಷ್ಟಿದೆ. ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಅದರ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ವಿನ್ಯಾಸವು ಹೆಸರುವಾಸಿಯಾಗಿರಬೇಕು. ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೇ ನಾನು ಆ ದೇವಾಲಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸಮಸ್ತವನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡನು. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಸಾಯುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ದೇವಾಲಯವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಕಾಗಿರುವವುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೂಡಿಸಿಟ್ಟನು.
