20. ಮೆನಹೇಮನು ಈ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನವರಿಂದ ಬರಮಾಡಿದನು. ಹೇಗಂದರೆ, ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಲು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತ ರಿಂದ ತಲಾ ಐವತ್ತು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ಶೆಕೇಲುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಕೊಂಡನು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನು ದೇಶ ದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲದೆ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಹೋದನು.

20. ಶ್ರೀಮಂತರು ಮತ್ತು ಅಧಿಕಾರವುಳ್ಳ ಜನರು ತೆರಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿ, ಮೆನಹೇಮನು ಈ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದನು. ಮೆನಹೇಮನು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೂ ಆರುನೂರು ಗ್ರಾಂ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ತೆರಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಧಿಸಿದನು. ನಂತರ ಮೆನಹೇಮನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ರಾಜನಿಗೆ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ರಾಜನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋದನು; ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರೇಲಿನಲ್ಲೇ ನೆಲೆಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
