7. ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ನಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಮ್ಮ ವಂಶದ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಕೇಳಿ--ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಬದುಕಿದ್ದಾನೋ? ನಿಮಗೆ ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬ ಸಹೋದರನು ಇದ್ದಾನೋ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿ ದನು. ಆಗ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾವು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆವು. ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮನನ್ನು ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಬನ್ನಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಅವನು ನಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವನೆಂದು ನಮಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯುವದು ಅಂದರು.

7. ಸಹೋದರರು, “ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ನಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿಯೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿಯೂ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅವನು ನಮಗೆ, ‘ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯು ಇನ್ನೂ ಜೀವಂತವಾಗಿರುವನೇ? ನಿಮಗೆ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬ ಸಹೋದರನಿರುವನೇ?’ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ನಾವು ಅವನ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟೆವು. ನಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
