37. ಆಗ ಮಾರೇ ಷಾದವನಾಗಿರುವ ದೋದಾವಾಹುವಿನ ಮಗನಾದ ಎಲೀಯೆಜರನು ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧ ವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿ--ನೀನು ಅಹಜ್ಯನ ಸಂಗಡ ಸೇರಿ ಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡಿಬಿಟ್ಟನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಹಡಗುಗಳು ತಾರ್ಷಿ ಷಿಗೆ ಹೋಗ ಕೂಡದ ಹಾಗೆ ಒಡೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವು.

37. ಆಗ ಎಲಿಯೇಜರನು ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನು ದೋದಾವಾಹುವಿನ ಮಗನು. ಅವನು ಮಾರೇಶ ಎಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣದವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನು, “ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನೇ, ನೀನು ಅಹಜ್ಯನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಅವನ ಹಡಗುಗಳು ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಡೆದು ಹೋದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವುಗಳು ತಾರ್ಷೀಷಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಲಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
