15. ನಿಶ್ಚಿಂತೆಯಾಗಿ ವಾಸಿಸಿದಂಥ ತಾನೇ ಹೊರತು ಮತ್ತೊಂದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ತನ್ನೊಳಗೆ ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡಂಥ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸದ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಇದೇ. ಅದು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಹಾಳಾಯಿತು; ಮೃಗಗಳು ಮಲಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸ್ಥಳವಾಯಿತು. ಅದನ್ನು ಹಾದು ಹೋಗುವವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಸಿಳ್ಳಿಟ್ಟು ಕೈ ಅಲ್ಲಾಡಿಸುವರು.

15. ಈ ನಿನೆವೆಯು ಸಂತೋಷಭರಿತ ನಗರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಅದರ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ತಾವು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಿನೆವೆಯು ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಮಹತ್ವಪೂರ್ಣ ಸ್ಥಳವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ಬಹಳ ಗರ್ವಪಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಆ ನಗರವು ನಾಶವಾಗುವದು. ಕಾಡುಮೃಗಗಳ ಹಕ್ಕೆಯಾಗುವದು. ದಾಟಿಹೋಗುವ ಜನರು, ತಮ್ಮ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಿಳ್ಳುಹಾಕಿ ತಲೆಯಾಡಿಸಿ “ಎಂಥಾ ದುರ್ಗತಿ” ಎಂದು ಉದ್ಗರಿಸುವರು.
