23. “ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶಕರೇ, ಫರಿಸಾಯರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗತಿ ಏನು ಹೇಳಲಿ! ನೀವು ಕಪಟಿಗಳು. ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದರಲ್ಲೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪುದೀನ, ಸಬ್ಬಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಸೊಪ್ಪು, ಜೀರಿಗೆ ಗಿಡಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಹ ಹತ್ತರಲ್ಲೊಂದು ಪಾಲನ್ನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೀರಿ. ಆದರೆ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಬೋಧನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯವಾದ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅಂದರೆ ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನೂ ಕರುಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ಯಥಾರ್ಥತೆಯನ್ನೂ ನೀವು ತೊರೆದುಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಈ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀವು ಮೊದಲು ವಿಧೇಯರಾಗಿ, ಈಗ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಂಥ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕಿತ್ತು.
