9. ಆಗ ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನು ಇಸಾಕ ನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು--ಅಗೋ, ಆಕೆಯು ಖಂಡಿತ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. ಆದರೆ ನೀನು--ಆಕೆಯು ನನ್ನ ತಂಗಿ ಎಂದು ಯಾಕೆ ಹೇಳಿದಿ ಅಂದನು. ಇಸಾಕನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ಆಕೆಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಸಾಯಬಾರ ದೆಂದು ಹಾಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದೆನು ಅಂದನು.

9. ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನು ಇಸಾಕನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು, “ಈ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ. ಅವಳು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂಗಿಯೆಂದು ಯಾಕೆ ನಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದೆ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಇಸಾಕನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಬಹುದೆಂಬ ಭಯದಿಂದ ಹಾಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದೆ” ಅಂದನು.
