38. ರಾಜನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ, “ಇಸ್ರೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದು ಮಹಾಪುರುಷನಾದ ನಾಯಕನೊಬ್ಬನು ಸತ್ತನೆಂಬುದು ನಿಮಗೆಲ್ಲ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ. 39ನಾನು ರಾಜನಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಏನೂ ಮಾಡಲಾರದ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಚೆರೂಯಳ ಗಂಡುಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ಇವರು ನನಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಯೆಹೋವನು ಈ ಜನರಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕ ದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
