16. ಕರ್ತನು--ಊರೀಯನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯು ದಾವೀದ ನಿಗೆ ಹೆತ್ತ ಕೂಸನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದನು. ಅದು ಬಹಳ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥವಾಯಿತು. ದಾವೀದನು ಕೂಸಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ದೇವ ರನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಉಪ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿ ಒಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ರಾತ್ರಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು.
