17. ಆಗ ನಾಮಾನನುಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಎರಡು ಹೇಸರ ಕತ್ತೆಗಳು ಹೊರತಕ್ಕ ಮಣ್ಣು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ ದಯಮಾಡಬೇಕಲ್ಲಾ. ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನು ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ಅನ್ಯದೇವರುಗಳಿಗೆ ದಹನಬಲಿಯನ್ನಾದರೂ ಬಲಿ ಯನ್ನಾದರೂ ಅರ್ಪಿಸನು.

17. ಆಗ ನಾಮಾನನು, “ನೀನು ಈ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಕೊನೆಯ ಪಕ್ಷ ನನಗಾಗಿ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡು. ನನ್ನ ಎರಡು ಹೇಸರಕತ್ತೆಗಳ ಮೇಲಿನ ಬುಟ್ಟಿಗಳು ತುಂಬುವಷ್ಟು ಇಸ್ರೇಲಿನ ಮಣ್ಣನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಕೊಡಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬೇಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಇತರ ದೇವರುಗಳಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ಸರ್ವಾಂಗಹೋಮವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಯಜ್ಞಗಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ನಾನು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಯಜ್ಞಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ!
