19. ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ಸಮುವೇಲನಿಗೆ--ನಾವು ಸಾಯದ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವ ರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಮಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಅರಸನು ಬೇಕೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪಾಪಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನ ವನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿದೆವೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

19. ಜನರೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸಮುವೇಲನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ನಮಗಾಗಿ, ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸು. ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಾಯಲು ಬಿಡಬೇಡ. ನಾವು ಅನೇಕ ಸಲ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಈಗ ನಾವು ರಾಜನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ನಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಪಾಪವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದಂತಾಯಿತು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
