14. ಸೈನಿಕರು ಯೋಹಾನನಿಗೆ, “ನಾವೇನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು. ಯೋಹಾನನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಲಂಚ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿ, ಸುಳ್ಳುದೂರು ಹೇಳಬೇಡಿರಿ. ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕುವ ಸಂಬಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತೋಷವಾಗಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
