13:17. ಆ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಇಸ್ರೇಲರನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ತೀರ್ಮಾನಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಅವರ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠ ಸೈನ್ಯವು ಆಕ್ರಮಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೊರಟಿತು. ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮೂರು ಗುಂಪುಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಒಂದು ಗುಂಪು ಉತ್ತರದಿಕ್ಕಿನ ಒಫ್ರದ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಶುವಲ್ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟಿತು.

13:17. ಆಗ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿ ಯರ ಪಾಳೆಯದಿಂದ ಸುಲುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರು ಮೂರು ಗುಂಪಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟರು; ಒಂದು ಗುಂಪು ಒಫ್ರದ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಶುವಲ್ ದೇಶದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಹೋಯಿತು;

13:17. Raiding bands went out from the camp of the Philistines in three groups. One band turned toward the road leading to Ophrah by the land of Shual;
