8:7. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಒಬ್ಬನ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯು ಅವನ ಪಾಪಾಧೀನಸ್ವಭಾವದ ಹಿಡಿತಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅವನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅವನು ದೇವರ ನಿಯಮಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಧೇಯನಾಗುವುದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ್ಲ, ವಿಧೇಯನಾಗಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿರುವುದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.

8:7. ಶರೀರ ಸಂಬಂಧವಾದ ಮನಸ್ಸು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಶತ್ರುತ್ವವು; ಕಾರಣವೇನಂದರೆ ಅಂಥ ಮನಸ್ಸು ದೇವರ ನಿಯಮಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಪಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ, ಒಳಪಡುವದಕ್ಕಾಗುವದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
