1:2. ನಾನು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಇಡೀ ಜೀವಮಾನದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅಂದರೆ ಆತನು ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿಹೋಗುವವರೆಗೆ ನಡೆದ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆದೆನು. ಯೇಸು ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಎತ್ತಲ್ಪಡುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೊದಲು, ತಾನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತಾಡಿದನು; ಅವರು ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನ ಸಹಾಯದಿಂದ ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು.
