8:40. ನಾನು ದೇವರಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿದ ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದವನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಅಂಥದ್ದೇನನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.

8:40. ಆದರೆ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿದ ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಈಗ ಕೊಲ್ಲುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನೋಡುತ್ತೀರಿ; ಇದನ್ನು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.

8:40. But now you are trying to kill me, a man who has told you the truth I heard from God. Abraham did not do this!

8:40. Instead, you are trying to kill me because I told you the truth, which I heard from God. Abraham never did such a thing.
