5:36. ಬಳಿಕ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಈ ಸಾಮ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದನು: “ಹಳೆ ಅಂಗಿಗೆ ತೇಪೆ ಹಚ್ಚುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೊಸ ಅಂಗಿಯಿಂದ ಬಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ಹರಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇಯಾದರೆ, ಹೊಸ ಅಂಗಿಯನ್ನು ಕೆಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಂತಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೊಸ ಅಂಗಿಯ ಬಟ್ಟೆಯು ಹಳೆ ಅಂಗಿಗೆ ಹೋಲುವುದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.

5:36. ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸಾಮ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಹ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ಹಳೇ ವಸ್ತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಸ ಬಟ್ಟೆಯ ತುಂಡನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ಹಚ್ಚುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಹಚ್ಚಿದರೆ ಹೊಸದು ಹರಿದು ಹೋಗುವದು ಮತ್ತು ಹೊಸದರಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದ ತುಂಡು ಹಳೇದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸರಿಬೀಳುವದಿಲ್ಲ.

5:36. He also told them a parable: "No one tears a patch from a new garment and sews it on an old garment. If he does, he will have torn the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old.

5:36. Then Jesus gave them this illustration: "No one tears a piece of cloth from a new garment and uses it to patch an old garment. For then the new garment would be ruined, and the new patch wouldn't even match the old garment.

5:36. And he spake also a parable unto them: No man rendeth a piece from a new garment and putteth it upon an old garment; else he will rend the new, and also the piece from the new will not agree with the old.

5:36. He also told them a parable: "No one tears a piece from a new garment and puts it on an old garment. If he does, he will tear the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old.

5:36. And he spake also a parable unto them; {SCJ}No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was [taken] out of the new agreeth not with the old. {SCJ.}

5:36. And he spake also a simile unto them -- `No one a patch of new clothing doth put on old clothing, and if otherwise, the new also doth make a rent, and with the old the patch doth not agree, that [is] from the new.

5:36. Jesus told them this story: "No one takes cloth off a new coat to cover a hole in an old coat. That would ruin the new coat, and the cloth from the new coat would not be the same as the old cloth.

5:36. He also told a parable to them. "No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old garment, or else he will tear the new, and also the piece from the new will not match the old.
