1:3. ಜನರು ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕದ್ದುಕೊಂಡು ಇತರರನ್ನು ಗಾಯಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಜನರು ಜಗಳ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಕಾದಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಂಥಾ ಭಯಂಕರ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡುವಂತೆ ಯಾಕೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀ.

1:3. ಯಾಕೆ ನನಗೆ ಅಪರಾಧವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿ ಕಷ್ಟವನ್ನು ನೋಡಮಾಡುತ್ತೀ? ಸೂರೆಯೂ ಹಿಂಸೆಯೂ ನನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಅವೆ; ಜಗಳವನ್ನೂ ತರ್ಕವನ್ನೂ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುವವರು ಇದ್ದಾರೆ.

1:3. Why do you force me to witness injustice? Why do you put up with wrongdoing? Destruction and violence confront me; conflict is present and one must endure strife.
