1:2. ಯೆಹೋವನು ಸ್ವಾಭಿಮಾನವುಳ್ಳ ದೇವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆತನು ಪಾಪಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಸೇಡನ್ನು ತೀರಿಸುವ ದೇವರು. ಆತನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಯೆಹೋವನು ಪಾಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ದೇವರು. ಆತನು ವೈರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸುವನು. ಆತನ ವೈರಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೋಪವು ಸದಾಕಾಲವಿರುವುದು.

1:2. ಕರ್ತನು ರೋಷವುಳ್ಳಂಥ, ಮುಯ್ಯಿಗೆಮುಯ್ಯಿ ಕೊಡುವಂಥ ದೇವರು; ಕರ್ತನು ಮುಯ್ಯಿಗೆ ಮುಯ್ಯಿ ಕೊಡುವಂಥ ಉಗ್ರವುಳ್ಳಾತನು, ಕರ್ತನು ತನ್ನ ವೈರಿ ಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುಯ್ಯಿಗೆಮುಯ್ಯಿ ತೀರಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.

1:2. The LORD is a zealous and avenging God; the LORD is avenging and very angry. The LORD takes vengeance against his foes; he sustains his rage against his enemies.
