2:17. ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ಯಾಜಕರು ಮಂಟಪಕ್ಕೂ ವೇದಿಕೆಗೂ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋಳಾಡಲಿ. ಆ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕು, “ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕರುಣೆ ಇಡು, ನಿನ್ನ ಜನರನ್ನು ನಾಚಿಕೆಗೆ ತುತ್ತಾಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಡ. ನಿನ್ನ ಜನರ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಅನ್ಯಜನರು ಗೇಲಿ ಮಾಡದಿರಲಿ. ಇತರ ದೇಶದ ಜನರು ನಮಗೆ ಹಾಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ‘ಅವರ ದೇವರು ಎಲ್ಲಿ?’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳದ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡು.”

2:17. ಕರ್ತನ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ಯಾಜಕರು ಅಂಗಳಕ್ಕೂ ಬಲಿಪೀಠಕ್ಕೂ ನಡುವೆ ಅತ್ತು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಲಿ--ಓ ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕನಿಕರಿಸು, ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಂದೆಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಬೇಡ; ಅವರ ದೇವರು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಜನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾಕೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕು?

2:17. Let the priests, those who serve the LORD, weep from the vestibule all the way back to the altar. Let them say, "Have pity, O LORD, on your people; please do not turn over your inheritance to be mocked, to become a proverb among the nations. Why should it be said among the peoples, "Where is their God?"

2:17. Let the priests, who minister in the LORD's presence, stand and weep between the entry room to the Temple and the altar. Let them pray, "Spare your people, LORD! Don't let your special possession become an object of mockery. Don't let them become a joke for unbelieving foreigners who say, 'Has the God of Israel left them?'"

2:17. Let the priests, the ministers of Jehovah, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Jehovah, and give not thy heritage to reproach, that the nations should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the peoples, Where is their God?

2:17. Between the vestibule and the altar let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep and say, "Spare your people, O LORD, and make not your heritage a reproach, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, 'Where is their God?'"

2:17. Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where [is] their God?

2:17. Let the priests, the Lord's servants, cry between the porch and the altar. All of them should say this: "Lord, have mercy on your people. Don't let your people be put to shame. Don't let other people tell jokes about your people. Don't let the other nations laugh at us and say, 'Where is their God?'"
