8:9. ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮನು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರೇಮಿಗಳ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು. ಕಾಡುಕತ್ತೆಯಂತೆ ಅಶ್ಶೂರ್ಯದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಹೋದನು.

8:9. ಅವರು ಒಂಟಿಯಾದ ಕಾಡುಕತ್ತೆಯ ಹಾಗೆ ಅಶ್ಯೂರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಎಫ್ರಾಯಾಮು ಮಿಂಡರಿಗೆ ಕೂಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದೆ.

8:9. They have gone up to Assyria, like a wild donkey that wanders off. Ephraim has hired prostitutes as lovers.

8:9. Like a wild donkey looking for a mate, they have gone up to Assyria. The people of Israel have sold themselves-- sold themselves to many lovers.
