1:17. ಚೀಯೋನು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನು ಚಾಚಿದಳು. ಅವಳನ್ನು ಸಂತೈಸುವವರು ಯಾರೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ ವೈರಿಗಳಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವನ ನೆರೆಹೊರೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದನು. ಜೆರುಸಲೇಮ್ ಒಂದು ಹೊಲಸು ವಸ್ತುವಾಗಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. ಆ ವೈರಿಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಳು ಒಂದು ಹೊಲಸು ವಸ್ತುವಾಗಿದ್ದಾಳೆ.

1:17. ಚೀಯೋನ್‌ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನು ಚಾಚುತ್ತಾಳೆ; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಳನ್ನು ಆದರಿಸುವವನು ಒಬ್ಬನೂ ಇಲ್ಲ; ಯಾಕೋಬಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಅವನ ವೈರಿಗಳು ಅವನ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಇರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮು ಅವರ ಮದ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಟ್ಟಾದ ಹೆಂಗಸಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ಇದೆ.

1:17. Zion spread out her hands, but there is no one to comfort her. The LORD has issued a decree against Jacob; his neighbors have become his enemies. Jerusalem has become like filthy garbage in their midst.&u05E6; (Tsade)

1:17. Jerusalem reaches out for help, but no one comforts her. Regarding his people Israel, the LORD has said, "Let their neighbors be their enemies! Let them be thrown away like a filthy rag!"

1:17. Zion spreadeth forth her hands; there is none to comfort her; Jehovah hath commanded concerning Jacob, that they that are round about him should be his adversaries: Jerusalem is among them as an unclean thing.

1:17. Zion stretches out her hands, but there is none to comfort her; the LORD has commanded against Jacob that his neighbors should be his foes; Jerusalem has become a filthy thing among them.

1:17. Zion spreadeth forth her hands, [and there is] none to comfort her: the LORD hath commanded concerning Jacob, [that] his adversaries [should be] round about him: Jerusalem is as a menstruous woman among them.

1:17. Zion spread out her hands. There was no one to comfort her. The Lord had given orders to Jacob's enemies. He ordered them to surround the city. Jerusalem has become a dirty rag that her enemies threw away.
