39:1. ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲದಾನ್ ಎಂಬವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಮೆರೋದಕಬಲದಾನ್ ಎಂಬವನು ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿನ ಅರಸನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಪತ್ರವನ್ನೂ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಬಹುಮಾನಗಳನ್ನೂ ತನ್ನ ದೂತರ ಸಂಗಡ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಮೆರೋದಕನಿಗೆ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆಂಬ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ತಲುಪಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಈ ರೀತಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು.

39:1. ಅದೇ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲದಾನನ ಮಗನೂ ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನೂ ಆದ ಮೆರೋದಕ ಬಲದಾನನೆಂಬವನು ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಗುಣಹೊಂದಿದನು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಪತ್ರಗ ಳನ್ನೂ ಬಹುಮಾನವನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
