1:21. ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುವುದೇನೆಂದರೆ: “ಜೆರುಸಲೇಮಿನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ನೋಡಿರಿ. ಆಕೆ ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಇಟ್ಟು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದಂಥ ನಗರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಳು. ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ಆಕೆ ಸೂಳೆಯಾಗಲು ಕಾರಣವೇನು? ಈಗ ಆಕೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಜೆರುಸಲೇಮು ನ್ಯಾಯನೀತಿಗಳಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿರಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವ ಜನರು ದೇವರ ಇಚ್ಛೆಯಂತೆ ನಡೆಯಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ಕೊಲೆಗಡುಕರು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

1:21. ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತಿಕೆಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಸೂಳೆಯಂತಾದ ಳಲ್ಲಾ! ಅದು ನ್ಯಾಯದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿ ನೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆ ಯಾಗಿತ್ತು; ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ಕೊಲೆಗಾರರಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದೆ.
