10:17. ಆದರೆ ರಾಜನು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕುಟುಂಬದಿಂದ ಬಂದವನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ತುಂಬ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದಾಗುವುದು; ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳು ತಿನ್ನುವುದನ್ನೂ ಕುಡಿಯುವುದನ್ನೂ ಹತೋಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡರೆ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ತುಂಬ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದಾಗುವುದು. ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳು ತಿನ್ನುವುದೂ ಕುಡಿಯುವುದೂ ಬಲ ಹೊಂದುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೇ ಹೊರತು ಮತ್ತರಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯಲ್ಲ.

10:17. ಓ ದೇಶವೇ, ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠರ ಮಗನು ನಿನ್ನ ಅರಸನಾದರೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಭುಗಳು ತಕ್ಕಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಅಮಲಿಗಾಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಶಕ್ತಿಗಾಗಿ ಊಟ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವಾಗಲಿ.

10:17. Blessed are you, O land, when your king is the son of nobility, and your princes feast at the proper time— with self-control and not in drunkenness.
