18:17. ಮೊದಲು ತನ್ನ ವಾದವನ್ನು ಮಂಡಿಸುವವನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ನೀತಿವಂತನಂತೆ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರತಿವಾದಿ ಎದ್ದಮೇಲೆ ಅವನ ನಿಜಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಆಗುವುದು.

18:17. ತನ್ನ ಸಮರ್ಥನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲನೆಯವನು ನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ತೋರು ತ್ತಾನೆ; ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನು ಬಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಶೋಧಿಸು ತ್ತಾನೆ.

18:17. The first to state his case seems right, until his opponent begins to cross-examine him.
