18:29. ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದ ಸಮಯವು ಮೀರುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದರೂ ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಹೊತ್ತಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ಯಜ್ಞಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವ ಸಮಯ ಬರುವ ತನಕ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೂಗುತ್ತಲೇ ಇದ್ದರು. ಆದರೂ ಬಾಳನಿಂದ ಉತ್ತರವೇ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಯಾವ ಶಬ್ದವೂ ಆಗಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವರ ಕೂಗಾಟವನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ಲಕ್ಷಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.

18:29. ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನವಾದ ತರುವಾಯ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ಬಲಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ವೇಳೆಯ ವರೆಗೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಶಬ್ದವಾ ದರೂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರಕೊಡುವವನಾದರೂ ಲಕ್ಷಿಸುವವ ನಾದರೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
