7:2. ಆಗ ರಾಜನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನಿಗೆ, “ನೋಡು, ನಾನು ದೇವದಾರು ಮರದಿಂದ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ ವೈಭವದ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಆದರೆ ದೇವರ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಗುಡಾರದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಒಂದು ಆಲಯವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಬೇಕು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
